The Lonely Midge

Today’s draft was inspired by a rainy morning at my desk and a little insect visitor wh was drawn to the desk lamp.

Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedThe midge on my desk, alone, spins in three circles on its hind end, then back on its feet walks a tightly enclosed pattern. It does this several times as I watch, book in hand, poised to strike. It looks like it's writing a message, each tiny circle a punctuation mark, each small wandering, words I don't know how to read.I put the book down, watch as it circles and wanders again.Warning me of spiders? Asking for help to return to the swarm?I don't know what -- but I do know this:If I can't give understanding,at least I can give my attention.
