The Gap Between Sound and Meaning
That word does not mean what you think it means
This draft started as a jumble of sentences in my morning pages which I pasted here and tried to tease out into a poem — or at least a sh*tty first draft of a poem.
Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedIn the gap between sound and meaning lives past lives, rejected selves, unheard voices of our childhoodsabotaging sound into interpretation. What would it take to go back become the air that flowed over the vocal cords or even further back to the bits of atmosphere that become the air even further back to the gaps in the atoms to space itself large enough to drop everything watch it become smaller and smaller and finally drift into the fabric of everything. Then all we are becomes all of everything and we can just be still with one another and understand.
