Test Prep, Tuesday Evening

Just a little review of the muscles

In my day to day job, one of the things I do is help folks get ready for their professional licensing exam. It is a challenge to keep myself from getting lost in the possibilities of the language and the movement, and to stick to the questions at hand.

What are the actions available at the wrist?

Actions always come in pairs:

flexion, extension

adduction, abduction.

All the muscles have pairs of actions --

pulling and pushing agains the opposites to form a perfect whole.

So when I move my wrist,

side to side

(radial deviation to ulnar deviation)

how could you know if this is a departure

or an arrival I am signaling?
