Thoughts on the exterminators
Our landlady recently discovered a nest of brown recluse spiders in the basement of the house. Therefore, we are preparing for the exterminators to come and fog the whole place. Putting things away, moving furniture, clearing out for a day while they work. In the midst of this I remembered a spider bite I had a few months ago, and wondered if it was a brown recluse bite. And so this draft was born.
Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedA brown recluse spider bit me a couple months ago --I'm pretty sure. And I was fine. You can't say that, though, when the exterminators are coming Fridayand everything is put away so the foggers will work. You can't say that to the landlady stumbling through her grieflike walking quickly through a pitch-dark room. (She moves from task to task, so tightly focused, she won't notice the Love of Her Life is gone.) Would it be such a bad thing -- to live with spiders? This one only bites when tangled up in sheets or in clothes --only when pressed against your skin. If you were tangled up in someone else's sheets or clothes, or dim perceptions -- wouldn't you bite too?
Come Dance With Me!
On Tuesday, September 27 at 1pm EST I will be offering a DANCEMandala Body Wisdom Spiral experience. The Body Wisdom Spiral uses music and gentle prompts to connect you to your body, and through your body to the deeper wisdom of your being. This is a movement-based practice, and you will decide how much and what kind of movement is right for you.
This practice is for you if:
You live in a body
You are a human
You want to trust your own inner wisdom
The practice takes about an hour. You will be refreshed, connected, and deeply relaxed. I hope you can join me there.
