Last Playlist

The sounds of the end of one world

Somewhere in my jumble of a journal today I wrote: “ A poem called ‘playlist’ where you list all the things you want to hear before you die.” And that became today’s draft.

Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedSomething joyful -- that one song that made me get up and danceevery wedding reception, every time. Next, something heavy with rhythmdrums at 60 bpm to entrain to your heart (mine is in its own space nowand will smile at your comfort.) From there, let it open into space -- longer holds, instruments of wind and strings. And another like this one, even slower.Even slower. Finally an unbroken chord over sounds of wind and trees -- soundtrack of my next becomingto welcome me back to cells within the great flow of nature.

Dance with Me

I led a DANCEMandala session today. One of the people dancing with me said this:

I have been working on a memoir. I had forgotten how physical writing is, and I was stuck in place. This helped me move through it and I feel ready to write again.

Starting in December, I will be offering twice monthly DANCEMandala movement meditation sessions for all paid subscribers. These sessions will be offered virtually, via Zoom. I have found movement to be one of the primary ways I can reconnect to my writing self when it seems lost (like today.)

Paid subscriptions start at $5/month. Your support makes it possible to keep writing and exploring the creative process together.
