Kintsugi of the Body
Leonard Cohen was right
I’ve been hearing a lot of folks talk about their brokenness today and all of them — every single one — is the most beautiful human they could possibly be at this moment. Messy, complicated, falling apart, and beautiful.
Across and over and through my body
cracks apear
sealed with flecks of gold, like Japanese stoneware,
I was invisible until I broke apart.
The autumn light glows white, then yellow, then pink fading to black.
I am touched in every split apart place --
there is no hiding, the body must arrive, entire,
into the embrace and the dance of this immutable, ever-changing light.
