Hands
Constructed to support the sacred

I wrote this one backwards and made a small switch in the order so it would make a bit of sense when I sent out the draft. Or maybe not. I just love the consruction of the human hand.
The engineering of your hands is miraculous.
Fingers deftly grasp and twist and intertwine
pulled from a distance by the muscles nestled at your elbow.
Adorned with the folded petals of each knuckle,
the folded lines of the palms,
the memory of a lifetime in your fingerpads.
Perfectly formed to touch the
radiant unsettled light of
the ever-flowing openness that
comes from the very darkest depths of the earth.
