Haiku for the Sturgeon Moon

This full moon is called a “sturgeon moon,” most likely because this would be the time of year best to catch sturgeon. Sturgeon are an ancient fish species, and some of them resemble sea dinosaurs — like the one I have tattooed on my leg.

Summer sits, heavy

on the back of endless earth.

Moon opens the doors.
