Fledgling

Yeah, it's another bird

Y’all. There are a lot of birds up here. Or maybe I am noticing them more. At any rate, bird encounters seem to be a running theme as I settle into my new home. (Nest?) Today’s draft was inspired by a conversation at the library and a beautiful group of humans who exist to watch and protect a falcon’s nest.

Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedA peregrine fledgling fell from its nest to the ledge below. This is not unusual -- They nest in the roof of the library, welcomed every year by grounded humans watching, protected through roof-mounted cameras and avid volunteers. The fledgling is too weak to fly.Curious humans behind glass leave their books, peekunderneath the window blinds, tryto see into the fledgling's eyes, catcha piece of the wild left inside.
