This draft is inspired by this article I read, about the real, historical Snow White. Sure, it was hundreds of years ago, but there’s still some messed up stuff we do to one another.

Here you are.

Standing in the path of a casual tornado

pretending that there’s nothing blowing into your eyes—

Just because you let debris blur out the destruction,

doesn’t mean it stops for you.

You think fairy tales are a fantasy —

no one disappears like that,

forgotten.

Your pinhole vision sees what it is shown

and you forget —

what we do in real life, sometimes,

is more wicked than any of our fairy tales.
